Veronica Freund is a graduate student in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Notre Dame. She did her undergraduate degree at University of St. Thomas where she majored in Chemistry and minored in Computer and Information Sciences. Her undergraduate research projects included using minimization algorithms to parameterize semi empirical methods for calculation of the vibrational structure of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in interstellar space.
Veronica's research involves refining the Density Readjusting Embedded Atom Method (DR-EAM) to better simulate metal oxide materials and surfaces.
