Nicholas Milikich

Undergraduate Student

Nick Milikich is a sophomore from Austin, TX. He is a double major in Biochemistry and ACMS (Applied & Computational Math & Statistics) at the University of Notre Dame. Nick's research involves water dynamics near the surface of DAFP anti-freeze proteins expressed by the Dendroides canadensis beetle. He does molecular dynamics simulations focusing on the Hydrogen bond jump times for waters near the surface of DAFP, particularly those near the threonine residues. Nick is also a member of Notre Dame's swim team, competing in IM and backstroke events, for which he is a two-time monogram winner and 2016-2017 recipient of the Beeler-Hipp award. Nick also enjoys listening to and writing his own music.
