Suzanne Neidhart

Graduate Student

Suzanne Neidhart is a graduate student in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Notre Dame. She did her undergraduate work in Chemistry at Newman University. During her time at Newman, she participated in an REU program at Kansas State University, working with Dr. Christine M. Aikens on quantum simulations of gold nanoclusters.

Suzie’s research interests are focused on the interfacial thermal conductivity from gold nanoparticles covered in different surface-bound ligands to a surrounding solvent. Heat transfer from gold particles to their surroundings is an important aspect of photothermal therapy.

When not researching Suzie enjoys playing card games and quilting.
