Nicholas Milikich a sophomore from Austin, TX. He is a double major in Biochemistry and ACMS (Applied and Computational Math and Statistics) at the University of Notre Dame.
Nicholas' research involves water dynamics near the surface of anti-freeze proteins expressed by the Dendroides canadensis beetle. He does molecular dynamics simulations and calculates the Hydrogen bond jump times for waters near the surface, particularly those bound to the threonine residues.
Nicholas is also on Notre Dame's Division 1 Swim team, where he does a range of events including 200 IM, 400 IM, 100 Back and 200 Back.
